Visual identity

Katjas klimatorium

Katja's klimatorium is a game that explores the relationship between climate science, food production and consumption. The aim of the game is to overcome psychological barriers to climate action and to promote how scientific research can contribute to creating sustainable food systems.

The product is a modular, interactive installation that combines digital interfaces with sensory experiences such as smell and taste, all within the confines of a cooperative board game played around the table.

My role in this project was in the design of the games visual identity and sketching it’s implementation on card games for the digital app and physical versions, and sketching implementation on the game table and app screens.

Visual identity

The visual identity for Katja's klimatorium draws inspiration from ideas of change, climate, senses, temperature, environment and research.

Logo

The symbol in the logo is formed by a circle as the planet earth and a food plate. Inside the circle three lines gather at a centre, forming a leaf, wave and wind looking form. There is represented the idea of renewal, change and climate. The elements plants, water, wind and sun. The activities social, recycling, games and natural development.

Colour

The color palette is made of blue tones (sea, ice, cold), green tones (nature, wood, plants, fresh) and red (warm, melting, flesh).

Gradients are visual elements of the identity and reflect the idea of change, climate, senses and influence.

Symbols

Symbols illustrating special skills were designed with lines of different weights, to give the impression of change, research and testing.

During the design process, I collaborated with Inspire to Action (responsible for the technical and digital implementation) and Oglenoor (industry designers responsible for the physical board game)
